MPH-TOP module - release types.
Automatic release:
Triggering of the electromagnetic valve of the lock and release device (multiple-use) when the system receives an electric pulse from the receiving and control firefighter device.
Manual (remote) release:
Triggering of the electromagnetic valve of the lock and release device (multiple-use) when the system receives an electric pulse which is given by pressing the manual Initiating Devices button.
MPH-TOP module - the principle of operation.
This device receives a signal from the fire detectors to the fire control receiver device and generates an impulse to trigger the electromagnetic drive of the MPH-TOP module.
The valve of the lock and release device opens, and the gaseous fire-extinguishing substance releases into the area through a spray nozzle under the pressure in the module.
When the pressure in the module drops below 2,0 MPa, a signal about the module triggering or depressurization is sent from the electric contact pressure indicator to the receiving and control device.
The test pressure of the module cylinder (Ptest), MPa

Gaseous extinguishing agents (GEA) FK-5-1-12, HFC-125, FM 200, and HFC-318 are used as fire suppression agents in gas fire suppression systems of the MPH series.
Short description of gaseous extinguishing agents specifications:
HFC-125 (C2F5H)
Gas fire suppression systems utilizing HFC-125 as GEA have been widely used in Russia mainly because of their low prices.
Advantages:
- Low price
- High % of usage
- High thermal stability (900°C)
- It is an ozone-safe FEA, its ozone depletion potential (ODR) is 0.
Disadvantages:
- The human presence is unacceptable in the environment where HFC-125 is used as GEA
- Low fill coefficient (0.9 kg/l)
- Low dielectric conductance (0,95)
HFC-227ea, or FM-200 (C3F7H)
When it is applied, it is safe for humans. It also has a high fill coefficient and high dielectric conductance. The best choice in terms of the price of the system and safety.
Advantages:
- Safe for humans
- Safe for the environment
- High fill coefficient (1.1 kg/l)
- High dielectric conductance (2,0)
Disadvantages:
- No high safety margin (relative excess of the threshold of NOAEL concentration over the standard fire extinguishing concentration is about 25%)
HFC-318 (C4F8)
But, nevertheless, this product is purchased by customers.
When used, it is safe for humans and is not under environmental international restrictions regulating the area of gas fire extinguishing products
Advantages:
- Safe for humans
- Safe for the environment
- High fill coefficient (1.1 kg/l)
Disadvantages:
- High price
- Low % of usage
FK-5-1-12
(CF3CF2C(O)CF(CF3)2)
Advantages:
- It is non-toxic in its working concentration and has a large margin of safety for protecting the premises with human presence
- Zero ozone depletion potential
- Short atmospheric lifetime (3-5 days)
Disadvantages:
- High price
